Lacrosse equipment:
Boys Lacrosse requires generic athletic items: mouthguard, athletic supporter with cup, football or soccer-style field cleats (not metal), as well as unique Lacrosse equipment: helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, and gloves. DYLC provides a custom bulk equipment order annually and will always provide the most affordable options to those who do not want custom equipment. Reach out to Robert Allen for recommendations.
ALL athletes will be required to purchase a NOSCE EKG chest protector no matter their skill level or position. The EKG chest protector is VITAL to prevent Commotio Cordis.
Commotio Cordis is a rare, but serious, medical condition disproportionately affecting male athletes between approximately 10 – 18 years of age and is caused by low-impact trauma to the chest by a projectile, such as a lacrosse ball, baseball, or a body part like an elbow or head. Within minutes, this seemingly mild trauma can cause sudden cardiac arrest and death.
